Thanks to each of you for supporting this years “Give Back Tour”. Despite a slow start on Monday because of the rain, we managed to raise almost a large amount of money for the Cascade & Covenant House, thanks largely in part to Mike Kap & Cat Records who donated a whopping $4500.
Additionally, we supplied more than 700 toys to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. I received letters of gratitude over the weekend from each of the non- profits. The Cascade House said we have fully stocked their toiletry and cleaning products closet until next year!!! Covenant House was extremely grateful for the men’s clothing. Although the community does give them several donations year round, they are always in need of men’s clothing specifically.
In addition to YOUR donations, Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon, Bobby Valentino, Kandi Burruss, Actress Malinda Williams, Gospel Greats Isaac Caree & Tasha Cobb, The Braxtons, Roger Bobb, Reality Stars Mariah Huq, Quad Webb, Nicci Gilbert and Shay Johnson all came by to donate. Karyn Greer and her 11 Alive news team gave us a special highlight on this morning’s newscast. Check it out, I think you’ll be proud:
All in all it was a very successful drive and I am so proud to be a part of a station and community that reaches back to help its fellow brothers and sisters!!! Kudos to YOU!
